Do you have a passion for science, hands-on lab work, and supporting clinical research? Become part of our dynamic and innovative team driving impactful clinical research.

Your Role
As a lab assistant, you will work closely with the study coordinators, scientific staff, and other lab teams to ensure smooth sample flow and data integrity throughout the project. Your responsibilities include receiving, registering, and processing clinical trial samples, with a focus on PBMC isolation and cryopreservation. You’ll ensure accurate labelling, tracking, and storage of samples, while maintaining clear documentation in the lab’s information system. Your work will follow established protocols and quality standards such as ISO 15189, ISO/IEC 17025, and GCP. You’ll also support daily lab operations, including equipment checks, inventory controlling, and general lab maintenance.

Your Profile
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field, with relevant experience in a lab setting.
  • You work in a structured and precise way, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • You have a genuine interest in scientific research and clinical applications.
  • You’re comfortable working independently but thrive just as well in a team.
  • You communicate clearly, collaborate easily, and bring a proactive, professional attitude to your work.
  • You have a good command of English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus.
  • You’re motivated by quality, results, and contributing to meaningful clinical research.

What We Offer
  • Supportive, collegial work environment with extensive onboarding and training.
  • Full-time contract for 6 months, with possibility of extension to permanent employment.
  • Flexible working hours schedule.
  • Competitive salary with benefits including end-of-year bonus, meal vouchers, and transport reimbursement (bicycle and public transport fully covered).
  • Opportunities for growth within an internationally connected laboratory network.
  • A diverse, inclusive team culture that values collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

Place of employment
This is an on-site position based in A.M.L., Emiel Vloorsstraat 9, 2020 Antwerp.
The lab is easily accessible by train, tram, and bus.
